I think to know the divine better, we should reflect Them in ourselves.

I want to understand my patron. Therefore, I embrace my vanity and my beauty and I bow to no one. I want to understand the Sky. Therefore, I sing what I choose and I demand what I have earned. I want to understand the Caretaker. Therefore, I go out to the hunting land and become unabashedly myself in the shadows. I want to understand the Gatekeeper. Therefore, I close my eyes, walk as close to death as I am able, and listen.

There is more to understanding divinity than asking Them a question and taking the answer for face value. There is more than reading and writing and talking. There is an understanding in being. Don’t just seek Them out-embody Them. Liken yourself to Them.

The divine has interest in you, as well.
