Happy Moon day Art Witches!!!
Let’s celebrate by working some lunar art magic. Here’s a fun project to connect with the moon and add that extra bit of magic to your paint water.Moon Bowl
Materials:
- Polymer clay
- Oven
- Cup/bowl
- Acrylic paint
Step one: knead the clay until it’s soft and workable. Break it up into small chunks to help with the softening process.
Step two: Roll the clay out flat and in a uniform thickness, roughly ¼" thick.
Step three: Turn your cup or bowl over so that the bottom is facing up. Drape your clay pancake over the bowl and trim around the bottom edge where you want your bowl to end.
Step four: Bake your creation. Follow baking instructions on your clay package.
Step five: Take clay off the bowl before it fully cools as it will be much harder to get off once it contracts around your bowl.
Step six: After your new bowl is cooled off you can sand any parts that aren’t as smooth as you would like. Then paint your moon design on the interior of the bowl with your acrylic paint.
I’d love to see what you guys make! You can paint your moon in any phase you like. Maybe you want to paint your birth moon or make a bowl for each phase!
