Witchcraft has existed for a much longer period, centuries or maybe even millennia. What we consider witchcraft–herbalism, appeals to spirit and energy, imbueing objects with life and purpose–existed long before Buckland and Cunningham and Z Budapest.

Do not conflate the history of witchcraft with the history of Wicca. (As does the book WITCHES OF AMERICA, which was released this week. Gross.)
