Digital books are a good start to bet the information you want down. And the best part about them is you can organize and re organize to your hearts content a lot easier.

Getting a small, classic black and white school notebook they sell at grocery stores and like a Wal-Mart. Or any composit notebook. Those are subtle and a way to write things down if you would prefer something physical.

Binders! You can say it’s a scrap book like I do or some sort of art project.

Don’t immediately say no to small spiral notebooks either. They are easy to hide and aren’t that obvious either.

I know a lot of people on tumblr emphasize pretty and aesthetic grimoires with lots of drawings and stuff, but in reality I find it best to keep it simple (I do dig the aesthetic ones, but they’re not practical, especially if you’re afraid to be caught). I myself do the following:

– keep a digital magical journal, to jot down every time a ritual is done (date, description, astrological influences etc), results, time until manifestation etc. this is important to give you an idea of your rotine and what’s working or not

– keep digital files for info (elemental and planetary correspondences, properties of herbs and crystals, sigils etc). this can be consulted to prepare for a ritual

– a pocket notebook to transcribe formulas, hymns and invocations that are too long to memorize, which can be easily consulted during a ritual

And that’s it. Unless your parents
regularly

go through your files (in which case you just ought to keep them on the cloud instead) and notebooks, this can be done without drawing their attention.
