So how does one do a deity reading??
I know my method… But it depends what you mean by deity reading, like @filatarcangelus asked.
Oh sorry, identifying and communicating is what I mean.
Gotcha!
So identifying is… tricky. I have yet to find a fool-proof method of identifying a deity other than using a pendulum and asking every single deity name I can think of LOL
But for communicating with a deity, I do this:
- First, I usually make an offering. It’s just the polite thing to do, you know? Anyways, I make an offering of water and/or incense and/or tea.
- Then, I grab a pendulum (optional: this pendulum is dedicated to that deity, but I do also have an all-purpose pendulum that I regularly cleanse for deities that don’t have their own pendulum.)
- Next, I use the pendulum to see if the deity is around and wants to talk. If yes, I ask if my desired method of divination is suitable for the deity’s message. EG: “Is it okay if I use the Rider Waite Smith Tarot to communicate your message?”
- Then, if a deck is agreed upon, I shuffle as I normally would* and draw 1 to 3 cards, or I use a particular spread. I draw the cards faced down and use the pendulum to confirm that these are the cards the deity intended for me to draw.
- I then flip over the cards and see the message. I use the pendulum to confirm my interpretations.
- Lastly, I thank the deity for their time and dismiss their attention back to where they’re most needed.
*You can also fan out the cards and use the pendulum to pick the cards. I’ve done that before with good results*
Basically, I use a pendulum to confirm with yes/no/maybe my interpretations for a card reading. I imagine you can use another form of divination other than cards and get the same result.
And yeah! That’s what I do! I hope that helps 🙂 Feel free to ask me any questions.
This is amazing and so comprehensive. Thank you so much for the help!!
