Egyptian Cult Image of Ptah, Third Intermediate Period, Early Dynasty 26, c. 945–600 BC

Found in a shrine at a temple, this statuette was created to house the spirit of the god Ptah, lord of the sky, responsible for the fashioning and maintenance of the physical universe. It’s made of lapis lazuli that was imported from Afghanistan, a very rare commodity in ancient Egypt. This statue stands at only 2" high.

Aries

little darling when you thought no one saw
i caught sight of your fall

a quick descent inside a falling star
your wings perishing against gravity
a murderous crash landing
a sky child left abandoned
but a spring blossomed
bruises spilling into blossoms
in the place you washed ashore on earth

i watched you trace your back
and ravish everything
in search of your wings
you tried to blink and pinch
wake yourself from this dream
but right there you would stay
while a deluge began to stir
calling your name
in the roar of thunder
coming right for you
a terrifying war
but instead of run away
i watched you hurl yourself
toward the storm
velocity, fury, ruby roses with thorns of swords
you didn’t need wings anymore

prayer to set

pocketlintwitch:

Set, he with the great strength,

Lend me your strength this day.

He of the foreign land,

Let me travel safely among enemies.

He who is in the middle of fire,

Help me to burn what no longer serves me.

Lord of the wind and the storm,

Guide me through storms both within and without.

Oh destructive one, he with great power,

Burn me to the ground, and allow me to build myself up again.

Peonies from my front garden (that came from my grandmother’s house), an offering to Isis Who is Great of Healing. Blessed is the Lady from Whom all blessings come, She in Whose worship my heart rejoices. May this offering of flowers and incense be pleasing unto Thee, for I make it to You with love. Praise be.

fairy ring is a naturally occurring ring of mushrooms. They are also known as pixie’s rings, faerie circles, or elf circles. The English believed that fairy rings were where fairies came to dance and celebrate, the mushrooms of the rings were used as stools for the fairies to recuperate during the evenings festivities.
