thebasildruid:

~A spell/ ritual to perform when seeking redemption, attempting to apologize or looking for forgiveness for past transgressions~

*We’re all pieces of shit from time to time, and though we don’t always deserve forgiveness, it never hurts to ask for it, or to apologize for our past transgressions. Understanding when you have wronged someone is the first step.*

What you will need (”not with ten thousand men could you do this”)

  1. A white candle
  2. A cleansing/ purifying herb (my go to is Basil… for more or less everything)
  3. A representation of your misdeed (for example, write out the truth if you told a lie, a bandage if you physically hurt someone)
  4. A representation of the person/ people you seek forgiveness from (a poppet or picture or or an object of theirs that you have permission to have!)
  5. Pen and Paper
  6. A cleansing incense. I chose sage and patchouli.

***** IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO ACTUALLY LITERALLY APOLOGIZE FIRST, IF THE SITUATION ALLOWS FOR IT*****

What to do

  • Prepare yourself as necessary. Cleanse, meditate, shower, etc. as well as your work space.
  • Set the representation of your act in front of you. Then on the other side of that, set the representation of the person you’re seeking redemption/ forgiveness from.
  • Close your eyes and focus on the misdeed in your mind. Think about what you could have done differently, or just flat out done to avoid causing harm to the person in any way.
  • Light the candle, keeping the remedy to the situation in your mind. Here you should also visualize saying your apology to the person, or (if you did apologize, keep that in mind.)
  • Hold the item representing your misdeed in the smoke, and above the flame (safely) then brush the cleansing herb across it.(I brushed the basil leaf across the item).
  • Say “For what was done, in days now past, I seek redemption, forgiveness that will last. For what I said, in anger or fear, let truth ring out, like a horn so clear. Let my apology reach, from here so very far, those I have wronged, and enter their ear.”
  • Get rid of the action item in the proper manner, then cleanse the representation of the person in the same way, to clear the way for them to receive your apology, focus your request for forgiveness at the person.
  • Repeat the saying from above as many times as you feel necessary.
  • Clean up, shower, keeping in mind your wrong doing and any way you could possibly make up for what you have done. .

Finally, write out an apology you SINCERELY intend to give. Sincerity is key in this entire spell. An apology means absolutely nothing if you aren’t actually sorry for what you have done, or understand that you have done wrong. Give the apology verbally, as they are more often accepted. But if saying it isn’t an option, you can give the written apology.

*Another Disclaimer* There is no substitute for a real, heartfelt apology. And an apology will not always be forgiven. Sometimes the shit we’ve done in the past can be unforgivable. We’re all shit sometimes, and in seeking forgiveness, we must be prepared to take an arrow or two to the chest, so to speak. We could be just as easily hurt in asking for forgiveness as we could be forgiven.

Offering stones

When taking something from nature, such as herbs, it is nice to give something back. You can leave these lovely air-dry stones in places such as the forest as a way to say thank you. Leaving these in nature is also totally safe for the environment. You can also offer these to a god/goddess.

Recipe:

2 cups of baking soda

1 cup of corn starch

1 ½ cups cold water

Mix until smooth, then put it in a pan and stir until it boils. Keep stirring until it is the consistency of mashed potatoes.

Let it cool and take the clay out of the pan. It should feel really smooth and you will probably play with it alot before you are even going to make the stones 🙂

I added some herbs and flowers, such as rosemary, lavender, roses, carnations, thyme, cloves, cinnamon, some blue flowers of which I don’t know the name and some orange berries that I found near the park.

I just made a little ball, then made a hole in it and added some herbs.

image

Now you can decorate it! You can add anything and shape them in any way you want. As you can see I made some squares, hearts, blobs and even an easter egg 🙂 I’ve seen some people use glitter and I recommend you don’t add any glitter since that is actually bad for the environment. I tried using normal white sugar as an alternative, but i noticed that the stones got kind of wet, which I should’ve seen coming. Not sure what’s going to happen when it dries so I’ll keep you guys updated.

I’m so happy with these and I am definitely going to use these for Ostara ^^ Of course you can use this recipe to make anything you want, not just offering stones.

I hope this was helpful for you guys ^-^

This is a beautiful idea!

Everyone: Offering bowls! Offertory stones! Pretty holiday things!

Me: -cackling and rubbings hands together- Poppets and spirit guardian statues…

one word spells

spellsandseashells:

breelandwalker:

tytysdeliveryservice:

As long as you can focus your energy and set your intention your spell should work, so I’ve designed these 5 spells using just one word for a Witch who needs a quick fix.

Mariquil

Pronounced mar-e-quil

Used to calm a temper or an upset person. From the latin word for sea, mare, and the english word tranquil. Essentially you are calling the sea inside them to be still. For better results cast with wet hands.

Univert

Pronounced Uni-var

Used for faster transport. I use it at the train station to have a shorter wait time but really its designed for traffic lights. By combining uni from universe and vert, the french word for green, you’re essentially asking the universe to make your path green.

Visididen

Pronounced Vis-e-did-en

Used to go unnoticed or invisible. Taken from the english words vision and hidden. For best results chant it softly while visualising yourself turning transparent.

Lapagna

Pronounced Lap-ag-na

Used when you just need someone to shut the f**k up but are too polite to say so. Taken from the Latin words lapis and magna, meaning stone and voice. For best results hold a stone or some earth while casting, if they’re really pissing you off just throw the stone or dirt at them.

Bavarignis

pronounced Bav-are-ig-ni

Used to strike up a conversation or to continue a conversation. Taken from the French word bavarder, which means chat, and the Latin word ignis, which means fire. Basically you’re asking for the conversation to spark or catch fire. For best results flick a lighter in your pocket or light a match.
