When I went out today all I could smell was intense floral perfume and incense no matter where I went.

I forgot to mention that the gods are often described as having beautiful scents.

In the NK some of the gods would take human form – in order to impregnate the Pharaohs wives, so the next king was semi-divine – the way in which the wives knew was a god instead of their husband was because the gods smelt amazing!
