Okay, so this is for all of the Kemetics out there, or witches who follow a deity in, or are interested in the Egyptian Pantheon. My friend, @dustyscarabs told me about an ancient Egyptian meal prayer that was used to offer food to the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses way back when.
Hotep (Netjer’s* name) em shabu en emenet her iyabt
(ho-tehp _______ em sha-boo en eh-met-net hair ee-yah-beet)
(English Translation – "May ____________ (God) be satisfied with the repast/offering to the right and to the left.“)
Netjer is the AE word for “God”, and is interchangeable with a specific God’s name (for example: Hotep Anup em shabu en emenet her iabyt). Furthermore, you can change Netjer (God) to Netjeru (Gods) if you wish to offer the food to the Egyptian pantheon as a whole.
With meal offerings, unlike the Greek pantheon (for example), We eat the offerings instead of burning them. In antiquity, ancient Egyptians couldn’t really afford to get rid of food, so they ate the things that they offered. We eat the offerings more as a reflection of the old ways.
The way I see it, the God/Goddess that you have just offered your meal to (or all of the Gods in general, if you chose) sort of absorb the food and intent through you? I know it sounds sort of weird, but every time that I’ve done this, it’s almost like I can feel them absorbing the food through me!
It’s a nice little incantation to make you feel a little closer to your deity!
Anyone have any tips on how to get in a good head space before approaching a shrine?
I’ll use my seperate Amun shrine as an example here instead of my larger Kemetic Orthodox Senut shrine.
First I decide if I need to do a full ritual purification shower or bath. As someone who is chronically ill this can be a huge energy suck that leaves me clean but without energy to do shrine. So I might wash my wands and mouth with natron water, put on deoderent and brush my teeth. Then I pick out what ritual white I’m going to wear. I have a few options, from a very simple one I made myself(basically linen folded over with a head hole) to my much nicer ones I’ve ordered.
Once dressed I put on Amun’s playlist as I gather up the offerings. I focus my mind on how I am upholding a tradition that was done by great ancestors such as the gods wives, Hatshepsut and others. I then bring the offerings into the room where the God’s shrine is. Walking down the long hallway with offerings, in my whites and ritual jewelry with soft music playing helps a lot. Currently the shrine in my living room because someone is staying in the guest room where it is normally located. Then I approach the shrine, set the offerings down and spend a few minutes just breathing and focusing on that before I started
Would the Gods mind if I was unable to shower? I am similar, it takes a lot of spoons from me just to shower some days. Would showering the day before, then doing the deodorant + others be okay too?

You can absolutely put conditions on a spell (i.e. this money will not come from a dying relative). You can absolutely put a time limit on a spell (i.e. bring me luck for x event on x day). That’s totally okay!
I personally come from a school of thought that believes WORDS MATTER. So I always put fine print on my spells, curses, charms, and hexes. So experiment! Find what works best for you!
Closing loopholes in your intents and incantations is a very real thing and a very important part of refining your craft.
Words matter. Intentions matter. Don’t be afraid to be specific!
Learn the phases of the moon and what each phase contributes for you. Also, search up “tonight’s moon phase” and it’ll tell you what moon is there that night and tell you when to expect other phases!
Use this for magick and making moon water. To make moon water you simply put some water under the moon, it’s okay if it’s cloudy, and you only need to put it out for an hour or more. Store it in a dark space.
Sun water: for ego, dignity, power, pride, self confidence and leader ship
Just leave water under the sun and store in a light/open area.
A lot of people seem to have issues using pendulums to get specific answers, to identify a spirits species or to find out things about who they are or how they look so here are some basic questions that can be answered with yes no or maybe. Honestly this is all just like playing that game Guess Who.

Are you a ___? : pretty basic just go down the list of all the things you can think of until you either run out or get a yes.
Are you a Death related spirit ?? (Dullahan, Grim, Reaper, Banshee, etc)
Are you an elemental spirit? (fire, earth, water, air, ice, snow, lightning)
^^this is usually a subcategory. For example if you get water and faerie you are looking for a species of fae connected to water
Are you connected to a specific religion or culture
If yes specify which and then go through the list? religion? Abrahamic? Culture? Irish??
This is where shit get touchy so be respectful of other cultures and their spirits okay?
Are you something I already work with?
For spirit workers with a large spirit family this could be helpful
If you get a maybe it likely means that they are but a different type. Say you get a maybe and when you go through the types of spirits you work with you get a maybe for vampire. They are likely a different type of vampire than the one you already work with
Is you’re species one well known / known at all by humans?
Yes this does happen, and yes it complicates things a bit
Do you know what humans call you’re kind?
This happens occasionally usually with demons or subcategories of bigger species labels (angels, demons. etc)

I’ve decided to put together a quick glossary of terms for newbies to the kemetic community. I hope this helps you! Feel free to add your own, too.
Em Hotep – this is a welcoming greeting that roughly translates into “in peace.”
Netjer – the Egyptian word for God. There is also Netjeru, for Gods. Along with this, there is also Dua, which is an invocation. Dua Netjer / Dua [Diety Name] is a common way to use this.
Senebty – used as a farewell, akin to goodbye.
Heka – the Egyptian word for magic. Heka is a sort of divine energy that is all around us, and is a gift from the Gods.
Ma’at – one of the hardest words to explain. It has no singular meaning, but is a combination of words such as harmony, balance, truth, and justice. Ma’at is “the right way” of living for kemetic followers. Confusingly, Ma’at is also the name of a goddess. You can read more about her here.
