I’m struggling with getting Set to tell me what He wants for offerings. For some reason He won’t help me…. Do you think maybe He just doesn’t want offerings, or maybe He is unsure as well….?

Tbh when I first made offerings to Set, I felt the legit same way. I wasn’t sure wht to offer him and when I finally settled on something (hot cheetos and some coke from word of mouth) it didn’t feel like he wanted it at the altar.

He still accepted me, of course. I think Set, tbh, just likes talking. He isn’t big on offerings (though I am sure he appreciates the effort), at least, that is the vibe I have gotten from him so far.

I’d try just talking to him without them and see what happens 🙂 best of luck

I feel like I’ve officially been like..adopted by Set.

He came in like a hurricane, unsurprising. But I learned tonight that I didn’t have to give him offerings (though appreciated). I can give him offerings in the future. And an altar space, when I have the proper resources.

He and I had already decided yeah, okay. We’re doing this so like. Here we are.

He’s the chillest God I have had the pleasure to meet?

I feel so bad for having judgments about him before and I apologize for them all.

Can someone PLEASE give me pointers on how to approach Set because every time I get hyped up to, I get intimidated and like..I will be honest. I don’t have a lot in my apartment. I’m broke so I can’t do anything fancy. All I have is a white candle maybe and that’s it.

Like…I want to make my introduction respectful and something he’d like and be impressed by…idk??

There’s a bunch of worship of the s//n//e//k and it really gives me bad vibes and I’m getting pushy Set feels since he fights it. I want to do a ritual for weakening it especially to help my Lord but I don’t know any.

Hey!!

So you have a few options if you want to hurt the sn/a/ke. They are often called execrations.

The two top rituals that I would recommend are an extremely long one called ‘The ritual of Overthrowing [the sn/a/ke]’ and ‘Breaking the Red Pot’.

☀️ Breaking the Red Pot
This is a mini ritual that is often performed at Wep Ronpet, it’s pretty simple. You get a pot that is red, or you paint it red, and you write the name of the sn/a/ke on it or draw a picture of it. Then smash the fudge out of that pot. Smash it into a hundred pieces. And throw the pieces away. It is done.

If you want to know more about the theory, there is a whole chapter here:

☀️ The ritual of Overthrowing [the sn/a/ke]
If you’re up for a more complicated ritual, this is the one I would recommend. It will take a lot more prep for and be wary that it takes a lot out of you. I last did this ritual for the birthday of the sn/a/ke and once I was done I was absolutely exhausted and slept for a good few hours in the middle of the day.

The last time I did this ritual I made a record which is here:

You can find the full ritual:

☀️ Faulkner, R. O. The Bremner-Rhind Papyrus: III: D. The Book of Overthrowing ‘Apep. The Journal of Egyptian Archaeology, Vol. 23, No. 2 (Dec., 1937), pp. 166-185 [Jstor]

☀️ Etneral Egypt by Richard Reily, pp. 163-175.

These are the only two places that I know of offhand, but there may be more. 🙂

☀️☀️☀️

Saying all of that, if you’re not able to do a full ritual. You can always just offer more to your gods, as offering to gods strengths then in their fight.

You can also hurt it by helping the living. Giving to appropriate charities, helping the kemetic community and my UPG is that just living will hurt it. 🙂

I hope this was helpful and please let me know if you’d like me to elaborate on anything 🙂
