I tell someone I’m a witch, right, I get to that moment in our relationship where this becomes vital information they need to know. So I’m like, “I’m a witch.”

And they’re like, “I loooveeee Wicca. I went to Salem once and I had a deck of Tarot cards in high school and I love ‘The Craft.’”

And I don’t correct them. Why would I?

If someone wants to think what I do is light and fluffy and cute, unless I need to correct them, I don’t. Why would you want someone to think you’re working with poisonous plants, hanging out with spirits, and casting curses, when they assume you’re making glitter sigils and decorating with quartz?

That’s very un-witchy.
