“Hathor” from a series of paintings I did for a solo exhibition in 2014 called “Truth of Myth.” I looked at 16 different women that had been done wrong by myth as it changed over the years. In Exodus, there’s mention of the Jews worshiping a “golden calf” – which doesn’t make much sense when you read that. Like why would they worship a gold cow? Then if you consider Egyptian deities and Hathor as a beloved mother goddess and protector, suddenly it all makes sense.
