Don’t eat your offerings
Please don’t.
Imagine this: you make your grandfather a nice meal. He eats most of it, leaving behind some juice and scraps. As you’re cleaning up his plate you eat all the scraps. In front of him, and on your way to the sink.
A lot of confusion may run through his head. “If you were hungry why not make your own?” “Should I have shared?” “What is wrong with this kid? That was my food and it’s gone. Why are they eating it??”
It’s disrespectful y’all.
If you’re leaving a stone or something you won’t throw out as an offering, either dedicate it to the entity, or when you clean it up, cleanse it and reprogram it. Don’t use the left overs.
it actually really depends on the practice! for specific spirits, definitely ask what they would prefer for an offering formula, but for practices such as kemeticism, eating offerings is actually normal (if not superbly encouraged). if anything, some practices would actually see throwing out offerings as wasteful. in the end, it really just depends on the person and what their practice or religious alignment asks of them.
