can we stop with all the things constantly referring to the moon as ‘she?’ or at least make more things that acknowledge that in Norse Polytheism Mani is a dude?
I know I’m the odd one out who worships the moon as a dude, but its very awkward for me when I’m in a group setting with other Pagans and have to defend “well…the moon isn’t always feminine”
Just…more inclusion pls?
This post has some eerie timing since I was just thinking about the same thing. It bothers me even more now that I’m getting some pokes from Mani.
On one hand, I get that those “the moon is my girlfriend” types of posts aren’t really religious, and that most pagans and polytheists calling the moon “she” are part of a religion with a moon goddess. But on the other hand, I wish Mani could get at least a little nod in his direction from time to time (along with other moon gods and sun goddesses).
I doubt people will change this for us though. Now I want to make a bunch of posts about how handsome the moon is and how much I love him and how incredible he is.
Dont forget Shinto mythology with moon god, Tsukuyomi
Another great addition!
I know very little about the Shinto religion.Let’s make this a thing: if you know any religions with Masculine Moons and/ or Feminine Suns please reblog! Lets spread some awareness.
There is Khonsu. The moon God in Kemeticism!
