Hello!
Ritual impurity can mean both being physical and mental unprepared to go before the gods. It can mean that you covered in dirt or your head just isn’t in the right place for a ritual.
Ritual Purity is a selection of actions that are meant to clean the body and get you focused on the ritual that you are about to do. In a modern kemetics practice this may be, taking a shower, brushing teeth, turning phones onto silent and changing into some clean clothes.
Half of ritual purity is about meeting the gods, a good metaphor is to image you have important guests coming over. You’d tidy up a little, wouldn’t be wearing week old clothes and would try to make sure you have drinks to offer them. It’s the same principles for ritual purity.
Lots of things make up ritual purity and I made a long post about it here:

The other half of ritual purity is making sure your head is in the right place. If you’re doing a ritual, you don’t want to be worrying about ‘did I leave the iron on’ or ‘this top is too tight’. The ideal is that your mind is purely focused on the gods.
The actions that you do to become ritually pure may be completely different to my actions. It is a ritual preparation to meet the divine!
